I dream about my ex often?? help please?

so me and my ex dated for exactly a year.. we have been broken up for 4 months and we still talk sometimes and i see her around school and stuff but i dont even think about her like i did when we first broke up i honestly thought that i moved on i dont think about her and ive been doing other stuff. but when i go to bed and this happens alot not everyday but alot. i dream about me and her getting back together or still together kissing holding hands all of that and its wearied because i dont even think about her yes i loved her alot it was my first love but why am i having these dreams is my head trying to tell me something? and every time i do see her we still have the connections we did when we were together nothing has really changed except we arent together anymore its just kinda awkward because you can tell we should have never broke up... i dont like having these dreams because it makes me miss her.. and i feel low.. anybody no the answer to this ????
