Where were all those human rights people when saddam hussain was hanged?

Even now the picture of saddam hussains hanging haunts me.Why was president of a country hanged without international commision of justice enquiry? why was he not provided facilities given to the war criminals as per geneva convention? why did leaders of his friendly countries not help him? why was international human rights commission mum? Can any body tell me?
