Samsung glyde phone owners?

Does anyone who has the Samsung Glyde mess up? like the touch screen? Ive had my Samsung Glyde since Nov-Dec and now my touch screen is messing up and has a mind of it's own. Could I get a new one? I took it in Verizon and asked someone and they said since it's damaged (a few scratches and skids) that I will have to pay 50 dollars. And they also said that it was the sensitivity level and that's a lie! I've adjusted my sensitivity level several times and it's the same thing. They should have my phone for a week and see how they would like it if all it does is mess up. And whenever I text, it will mess up and someone turn off on its own... I don't know what to do, I just really want a new phone. Do you think I can without paying the 50 dollars? Or how much would it be for a completely different phone like the Env2 or Env3? Thanks.
