Will China beat US at Beijing Olympic medal tally?

Even in last olympics it seemed that US did well mostly due to dominance in certain track and field events. I wonder if China would get a home advantage, if their strong ethic, if politics might discourage some foreign participants, if US is not as dominant in athletics compared to 4 years ago that they could get overtaken. What do you think?
