Is The Great Gatsby a good book for teens?

Im doing an essay for my cl and im having a hard time thinking of an intro to my essay. The question we have to answer is if the book good for teens meaning ages 15-17 and if it should be a core text for high school students. Any suggestions? Please i need help on this one
