Converting film to digital file.?

i am amateur photographer who works primarily with film. i no longer have access to a dark room but would like to cont. working with my film 35 mm and medium format. i am looking for a solution were i can cont. developing my own negatives and then convert them to a digital file, without sacrificing image quality............. i have a copy of adobe cs3, if that helps at all.
