Never had weave before and I'm completely and totally lost! Help?

I've always had naturally long hair, it used to be abut 18-19" then I cut it to about 12-14" (worst decision of my life :'( ) Otherwise, I really like the texture of it when it's straightened (thick, and silky) and when it's wet (soft, spiral curls). I want to get my length back but I want it to look as natural as possible without spending to much money (my budget is $200 for 2 packs). I DO NOT want a full sew-in and I DO NOT want synthetic, shiny, plastic-looking hair, I want as much of my natural hair exposed as possible. Can anyone recommend a brand and application method?
